


| September was a very nice month on lanta. The weather was pretty good and no strong winds from the north east yet and not much rain (only 7-8 days). Everybody is very busy to get everything ready for the high season which is just around the corner.
News Koh Lanta General:
The Ferries will start run on 04/10 2008 from Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi and Ao Nang to Lanta, so more people will come to visit the island very soon. Speedboats and diving will start around 15/10 2008, right now they do the last check up’s.
News Saladan:
Everything is cleaned up, many new shops will open for the season.
A new shopping area is under construction, which is soon ready for business.
News Klong Dao Beach:
A lot of constructions going on close to the main road, a new drain is build but soon finished.
A new Night-Club just opened 2 weeks ago, PocoLoco, opposite Southern Lanta Resort. Right now it is the only club open.
Soon another Club will open next to the Klong Dao Boxing Stadium, with live music and enough space to dance.
News Long Beach:
The beach here looks already very good, only small things have to be done before the season.
The Funky Fish restaurant just opened again end of September, with a new sofa area. A very nice place to enjoy the sunsets on Ko Lanta.
At Long Beach also a lot of construction work for new shops and hotels next to the main road.
News Klong Khong Beach:
Still very dirty, but the business owners on the beach will clean up soon.
The road are very bad in this area, but the road builders are busy to fix the bad parts.
One new resort will open next year, the Lanta Sunset Living Resort, at the beginning of Klong Khong. It will be the first big hotel in this area, all other places here are small family bungalow resorts.
News South of Klong Nin:
The beaches here are very clean and still unspoiled. The roads after Pimalai Resort are much better then last year (it was only possible to go there with a motorbike-if you’re a good driver - or 4WD).
They fixed the almost impassable parts, now it’s easy to discover this area.
