| This year the high season seems to start late on Koh Lanta. Hotels are still not busy (most only 40-50%) and in many hotels there’re still roomsavailable during peak season. All the tour operators and ferries run daily tours since 01.11.09 until end of April 2010.
The weather is unfortunately not how it should be this time of the year. Lanta got some daily rain in the afternoon (1-2 yours heavy rain), but the temperatures are very convenient and no winds yet.
The Andaman Sea is perfectly calm at present.
 Saladan / Klong Dao:
Saladan is busy in the evening hours, all shops are open and new restaurants opened in Saladan and on the mainroad at Klong Dao.
 The beach is clean and there’re a couple of new bars with BBQ where the visitors can go in the evening.
Lanta got impressive sunsets due to the clear cooler air after the rain.
The new Resort “PiLanta” will celebrate grand opening on 17.11.09, here some pictures how it looks so far:
The resort is located behind Twin Lotus and Costa Lanta Resort, no direct access to the beach. Hotel informed us though, there will be a free shuttle service to Klong Dao (area close to Twin Bay Resort) FOC for the guests. As you can see the bathrooms are very big with a place for private massage, this is available in all rooms. Private pools are only in the ground floor rooms.

Long Beach:
Got a new boxing stadium and BBQ restaurant, between Layana Resort and Lanta Sand Resort on the mainroad.
Earth bar at the center of Long Beach had a reopening. Opium and Earth Bar are the places to go now for a relaxed evening. Sometimes they offer live music there.
 Klong Kong Beach:
In general not much happened on this quiet cozy beach. Unfortunately it seems like the crisis hit one of the real estate projects on Koh Lanta.
- Construction is never ending. 
One newer Coffee Shop at the end of Klong Kong Beach, Green Leaf.
Klong Nin Beach:
Klong Nin Beach is the beach with the most changes the last couple of months, the new bridge is finished and 2 new hotels are ready to welcome customers. At the beginning of Klong Nin Beach there is a construction of a new restaurant / bar up in the hills.

 Amantra Resort (very south end of Klong Nin)
Nice small resort with perfect beach and all bungalows are close to the sea.
 One wing is still under construction though. But the heavy construction work is finished in all areas.

Lanta Klong Nin Resort:
Just opened this season, a bungalow resort with a nice garden setting but no beach access. The Hotel is not far from the beach, unfavorably the customers have to cross the road to get to the beach.
The resort offers big bungalows, living area and sunbeds on the balcony. South of Klong Nin Beach:
Specially in the south we got a lot of rain the last couple of days, as there is no concrete road its still not passable by minivans.
