Koh Chang General:
Beginning of December was very quiet after the airports in Bangkok closed.
But the peak season over Christmas and New Year was very busy and all hotels was full.

This New Year we had a Seafood Festival from 29-31 December in White Sand Beach with a lot of Seafood in the beach restaurants and live music on the beach.

Bangkok Airways has in January cancelled many of their flights.
On many days they only operates two flights. Mostly the two flights are the morning flight PG301/PG302 and the early afternoon flight PG305/PG306.

In White Sand Beach more and more shops are opening up in the new hotel part of Lagoon Koh Chang Resort.

Also Bangkok Airways has now open their first office on Ko Chang in White Sand Beach. They are also located in the new part of Lagoon Koh Chang Resort in the middle of White Sands.

In the south end of White Sand Beach more shops units are being build in the moment and will open within a few months.

News: Klong Prao Beach:
Mid December there was a fire in VJ Plaza on Klong Prao Beach and many of the shop units in the plaza was destroyed. One of the shops was the famous Bodiwork Spa Academy, which now has to find a new location. Bodiwork Spa still has their business inside Paradise Resort and on Kai Bae. Also they will very soon open up in the new part of KC Grande Resort.

This year the small Koh Chang airport has been turned into a driving range for golf players and the plane service is only use very seldom.

For Christmas and New Year the new Chalet Wing open up at Koh Chang Tropicana Resort. The new hotel part is very nice with a beautiful pool in the middle. After the peak season the new part closed down again for finishing the construction and will open again March / April.

Kai Bae Beach was also very busy over New Year and still here in January a lot of people are walking to Kai Bae from the nearby hotels such as Amari Emerald Cove Resort, VJ Hotel and Dewa Resort. People can find good places to dine and also enjoy a game of minigolf.
