Koh Chang is Thailand’s second largest island after Phuket, and offers you fantastic beaches and good opportunities to the about 50 surrounding islands, where you can experience the life under the ocean as one of the best places in Thailand.

When you arrive at Koh Chang with the ferry you will be met by a fantastic view. The largest mountain is Salek Phet, which is 744 meters and the island is covered with thick rainforest where you find monkeys and many other animals among the waterfalls.

On the Island lives officially around 7.000 inhabitants and most of them are occupied with tourism, fishing and rubber production.

Koh Chang is about 30 km long and 12 km wide and you will only find a way that follows the coastline at the east- and west coast. At the moment the road only leads to the city Salek Phet on the east side and the city Bang Bao on the west side, but the government is right now making the road through the mountains in the south, so that it soon will be possible to come round Koh Chang.

The most special place on the island is our fishing village, which is called Bang Bao. Bang Bao must be experienced. The atmosphere is completely relaxed and most of the people in the city live as in old times. Where the men every day goes out in the afternoon to fish at night. In this village you will e.g. find chow Lay Seafood, which offers the best fresh seafood you can imagine.

The actual island Koh Chang lies in the province Trat, which lies next to the Cambodian border. You can cross the border three places from Trat. In the south you’ll find the border at Koh Kong, in the middle Pailin border and in the north the border by Poipet. With the three borders, it is today also possible to travel to the capital Phnom Penh and the Temple area Angkor by Siem Reap in Cambodia.
