Koh Chang Islands

South for Koh Chang you’ll find the islands Koh Wai, Koh Rang Koh Mak, Koh Kham and Koh Kood as five of the most known islands close to Koh Chang island.

Koh Wai

Koh Wai Island is the smallest, but the most beautiful in Koh Chang National Park. This beautiful island is located only 40 min away from the fisherman village Bang Bao on Koh Chang. There is boats leaving for Koh Wai everyday. On Koh Wai you’ll find a couple of small resorts as Koh Wai Paradise Resort and Koh Wai Pakarang Resort. Both resorts has simple Bungalows. From both places you can snorkel direct from the beach.

Koh Rang

This island offers without questions the best snorkeling area in Koh Chang National Park. In the north end of the Koh Rang you’ll find many corals at the islands Koh Yark, Koh Kra and Koh Thong. You can visit all the islands from Koh Chang everyday by some of the many boats that visited the area for snorkeling. The area is under Koh Chang National Park and there is many rules in the area to protect the beautiful corals. There is also no resorts on Koh Rang Island, so you can only visit the island on day trips. The area is also very famous for diving and it is the favorite places for all the divers on Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood.


Koh Mak

A little south from Koh Wai Island you’ll find the island of Koh Mak. The island is well know among the backpackers for it’s beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. You can easy travel to/from Koh Mak with boats leaving everyday from the mainland at the pier in Leam Nqob and from Koh Chang at the pier in Bang Bao. The boat trip is around 2 hours. You can snorkel directly from the beaches on Koh Mak island and there is boats going to Koh Rang everyday for snorkeling.


Koh Kham

Only a few hundred meters from the beach on Koh Mak you find this small private island, which is one of the most beautiful in the area. When the water is low you can nearly walk between Koh Kham island and Koh Mak island as you can see on the picture. You can snorkel directly from the beach and there is boats going to Koh Rang everyday for snorkeling.

Koh Kood

In the south end and close to the Cambodian border you’ll find the island of Koh Kood. It is a fantastic exiting island with the most beautiful clear water. Over the last couple of years many things has changed on Koh Kood with more resorts as example Soneva Kiri Koh Kood a new 6 star resort has just opened on the island. On Koh Kood you find beautiful beaches and nature and there is a big waterfall inside the river of Klong Chao.
