Bangkok Highlights

Bangkok Highlights starts at New Road Guest House at 09.00, where your guide takes you to a nearby pier to board a longtail boat. From here you’ll move down the Chao Phraya, the main river in Bangkok, before making a turn to enter the khlongs.

Upon entering the khlongs, you will see how locals live in small houses on the river. You will meet long tail boats selling many varieties of food. The first stop is the orchid farm your guide will share his through knowledge about the flowers and how to make a lunch pack with the leaves from trees. You will also stop at a temple with the chance to feed holy Catfish. It’s an amazing sight when thousands of fish come to the surface seemingly out of nowhere!

After the exiting khlong tour we will enjoy lunch at the Chao Phraya river.

Klong tour

We walk the short stretch of road from the pier to the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace contains a miniature copy of Angkor Wat as it appeared in its glory days, along with three impressive stupas in three Buddhist architectural styles, and the Emerald Buddha, which is the holiest Buddha image in Thailand and the main attraction in the complex.

The trip then continues south to Wat Pho, the oldest temple in Bangkok, where we visit the main attraction – the reclining Buddha – 46 meters long and 15 meters tall. The sculpture is made of gold, and its flat soles are ornamented with Buddha’s 108 omens of happiness by inlaid mother of pearl.

After Wat Pho you can continue to Wat Arun or Chinatown by your selves or you can return to New Road Guest House with your guide.

Remember to dress respectably in Buddhist temples – this means covered shoulders, long pants and closed shoes (sandals with heel straps are acceptable). Flip flops, tank tops, short skirts and shorts above the knees are unacceptable. You can rent long, baggy pants at the entrance to the Grand Palace
