The weather in August was some of the best weather we had over the summer. Nearly the whole month the sun was shining everyday and the ocean was calm and perfect for both diving and snorkeling. The weather in September was still ok, but in the beginning of the month we got 4-5 days with only rain and the waterfalls had to close the entrance, because of floating. Also the ocean was wild and boats could not go out for diving and snorkeling.

New on Ko Chang Island:
The famous restaurant Oodie’s Place in White Sand Beach has been closed for 2 month for renovation and has just open again. The restaurant is famous for Oodie’s good live music every night and great food. 
A new tour on Ko Chang is Trekking with Mr. Tan, which offers 4 new exiting programs for the clients. Mr. Tan offer both half day family trekking and full day trekking up to 630 meters. Mr. Tan has been a TAT guide for more than 10 years and has lived in Australia for 6 years, so his English is very good. He has been a trekking guide in Chiang Mai before and his 4 new programs on Ko Chang are all unique.  Ko Chang General: August was a busy month on Ko Chang and a lot of Scandinavians and German’s visited our island together with many from south Europe, especially Greece. September has been more quiet, but as the high season soon will start in October with all the boat companies operating again to the southern islands the island has become more busy end September. Dolphin swimming has become one of the most popular tours from Ko Chang. The dolphin park Oasis Sea World is located in Chanthaburi around 1 hour form the pier on the mainland. To swim with the dolphins only cost 400 THB for 45 minutes. The groups are from 10 to 15 person per time and you can swim with the dolphins 4 times a day at 09.45, 11.45, 13.45 and 15.45 hrs. There is also an dolphin show 4 times a day at 09.00, 11.00, 13.00 and 15.00. The entrance fee is 180 THB per person. The price for children and adults is the same in Oasis Sea World.  News: White Sand Beach: The new hotel part opposite Lagoon Resort in the middle of White Sand Beach is now nearly complete and 2-3 banks together with an optic shop has already open. The rooms on second and third floor will be hotel rooms belonging to the Koh Chang Lagoon Resort. 
A new Cash & Carry shop will open end October a little outside White Sand Beach just next to the Bangkok – Trat International Clinic. The new shop house opposite Koh Chang Resort is now nearly finish. Here Koh Chang Latex will open and can offer the visitors pillows and mattresses from latex. Latex is a product made by foaming process of milky rubber sap (natural raw rubber) gathered from rubber trees growing on Ko Chang. 
The islands famous Thai Cooking school the Kati Culinary has open again after being close a few weeks. Kati Culinary is located just outside the Tropicana Resort, Panviman Resort and the Barali Resort and is also a famous dinning place for people staying in the area of Baan Klong Prao. The Thai cooking class is everyday at 10.00 to 15.00 and cost 1.200 THB per person (children half price). News: Kai Bae Beach: The new resort The Chill will open as planed end October 2008 in the middle of Kai Bae Beach, but will have light construction until around mid December.
