Our history - in short 

Evolution Tour was founded October 13 2003, and the idea was to offer quality products with guide service as this did not exist on Koh Chang back in 2003.

Our first season was very difficult to get through because we needed to accumulate a market on the island and simultaneously struggled to be accepted by the locals, and so we were under severe conditions in the season 2003-2004. But due to the many nice Scandinavian guests we managed to survive the season and at the same time even make a small profit.

In late 2004 Evolution Tour generated several contacts to major agents in Bangkok who needed a collaborator on the island. Soon Evolution Tour developed from focusing only on tours to include transfers to and from Koh Chang as well as providing service for guests during their stay on the island.

In late 2004 our team consisted of nine people, including the 3 employees who started out back in October 2003.

 

The season 2004-2005 became our first really busy one as we felt the impact of the terrible tsunami in Southern Thailand with a consequent greater flow of visitors to Koh Chang which was more than some were prepared for. Koh Chang noted that some things needed to be prepared for the season 2005 - 2006 such as waste system and traffic.

Season 2005-2006 was a great season for Evolution Tour with many satisfied guests on our trips and several begun booking hotels directly from Evolution Tour. We also got an exciting opportunity to handle a large cruise ship from the Danish company C&C Travel. We acquired our second minivan and a new office with more space than the old one from the season 2004-2005.

 

In late 2006 Evolution Tour opened office on Koh Lanta in the Krabi province. The idea was to get to know the south of Thailand better with the known areas such as Koh Phuket , Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui and Krabi.

 

In 2007 our team included around 20 employees and our work changed from focusing only on transfers, service and excursions into booking complete holidays for our guests. These could be everything from hotel nights throughout Thailand to transfers and excursions in for example Bangkok. This new area is rapidly expanding for Evolution Tour, not least because we work with some of Thailand's biggest companies whereby we can offer some very competitive prices for hotels throughout Thailand.

 

The winter 2007-2008 was very exciting for Evolution Tour on Koh Lanta when we became the agent of the largest Scandinavian tour operator Star Tour/Fritidsresor with 9 travel managers in the office.

 

In 2008-2009 we expanded to 3 mini buses and two cars for our transfers. All of our vans/cars are new as safety of our transfers are the most important thing for Evolution Tour.

In 2008 our team was up to 25 employees. We strive 100% to be the best tour operator on Koh Chang
and Koh Lanta which we are trying to achieve by offering excellent service from our guides, and through quality products on various excursions. Any complaints are always taken seriously and attempted to be solved as best we can, even if we would experience a loss due to it.

 

In 2009-2010 we opened an office in Ao Nang, Krabi for a short period in order to obtain better knowledge of this area as we saw an increase in bookings throughout the area. In 2010 we focused on our own products  “island hopping”. On Koh Chang we offer Koh Chang Island Hopping (5 days/4 nights) and in Southern Thailand we offer two exciting tours: Koh Lanta Island Hopping (5 days/4 nights) and Koh Lipe Island Hopping (6 days/5 nights).

 

 

In August 2010 we opened our office in Denmark under the name Asien Travel.

 

My personal theory is that errors cannot be avoided but it is the way the problem gets fixed which is essential for customer satisfaction.

 

The name Evolution comes from the word itself. The evolution or development we are talking about is the service we provide for the guests. Our motto says it all: We meet as strangers and part as friends. This is where the "evolution/development" is – the customer is satisfied with the service we provide and therefore we become friends.
